When a smallholder approached Capital Containers with a problem familiar to many rural farmers, we knew we could help. Her wooden chicken shed had become a target for foxes, and the frequent high winds in her area often left the shed in disrepair. The traditional structure simply wasn’t holding up, and her chickens were at risk.
Drawing from our extensive experience in supplying high-quality shipping containers, we proposed an innovative solution. We repurposed a container, removing the cargo doors and replacing them with metal grilles and a secure, grilled metal door. This provided the perfect balance of protection and ventilation. The container’s sturdy structure meant it could withstand the elements far better than the previous wooden shed, and the metal grilles ensured that the chickens could enjoy fresh air while remaining safe from predators.
The smallholder was delighted with the outcome. After adding some shelves and fresh straw, the chickens settled into their new home, secure from the elements and any unwelcome visitors. Thanks to Capital Containers, her farm now boasts a durable, weather-resistant coop that guarantees the safety and well-being of her chickens.
