This unusual bespoke project involved the design and build of a “Confined Space Training Container” for our client who is a leading accredited provider of compliance training.
This organisation delivers specialist training to the utilities, construction, and defence sectors, ensuring professionals are equipped to work safely and effectively in challenging environments. The unit enables students to experience the risks to help them to identify dangerous hazards, and how to apply emergency procedures along with best practice safety compliance.
The project pictures will show that we installed a 600 x 600mm roof hatch accessed via a stairway leading to the elevated platform. Inside the trainees encounter a 3m vertical drop leading to a 12m internal corridor in complete darkness.
To ensure safety, an emergency exit door and emergency lighting system was installed in the event of an incident or obstruction.
The container then had to be cladded on the outside to match its surroundings.
We have our own in house team who can design, convert, and construct not only containers but anything you may require in steel. This can be done to your own specification. It amazes us how many different uses Containers can be put to. We have over the years converted them into offices, schools, workshops, cafes, bars, and even used them in a children’s adventure park, as rifle archery ranges!
